How to Get Started
Adopting a drain is easy and makes a big difference for our community. Keeping storm drains clear helps rainwater flow off our streets and reduces localized flooding after heavy storms. Just as importantly, these drains lead directly to our waterways, so removing leaves and debris helps protect water quality, seagrasses, fish, and other wildlife that make Gulfport such a special place.
Start by taking a look at the map below to find a storm drain that has not already been adopted. Drains marked in Blue are available; those with Hearts have been adopted. The map is interactive so you can zoom in to find a drain. Once you see a drain you’d like to help care for, click on the drain to fill in your information.
The link will take you to Gulfport Connects, the City of Gulfport’s volunteer portal, where you can complete your volunteer sign-up in just a few minutes.
After that, you’re officially part of the Adopt-A-Drain family, helping keep our streets clear, our water clean, and our little slice of Florida looking its best. Thank you for being part of what makes Gulfport such a special place to live.
