The Gulfport Multipurpose Senior Center actively seeks to support the independence and increased quality of life of its participants by encouraging involvement in programs and activities that promote health, welfare, safety and dignity.
Required Registration is easy and available for all individuals 50 years of age or older. Free for Gulfport Residents and only $50 per year for non-Residents.
The Gulfport Senior Center is Gulfport’s trusted leader in providing senior services that empower older adults to live life to the fullest. The Senior Center is a hub and gathering place for seniors to be socially engaged, physically challenged, and cognitively stimulated. It also serves as a clearinghouse for older adults to receive community resources and social services that help them maintain their independence and quality of life.
We focus on providing relevant information, services, and development of new programs that meet the diverse needs and interest of today’s seniors. Our program offerings emphasize an active, independent lifestyle filled with numerous opportunities for socialization, education, and physical, emotional, and spiritual enhancement in a warm and welcoming environment.
Other services provided through the Gulfport Senior Center are the GEMS Transportation Service, the Reassurance Daily Phone Service, the Medical Equipment Lending Program, and information and access services that connect older adults and their families to a wide range of appropriate services.

Senior Citizens Advisory Committee on Aging
The Senior Citizens Advisory Committee on Aging determines, prioritizes and recommends to City Council program approaches to meet the needs of Gulfport aging citizens, consumer protection standards affecting the health, welfare or safety of Gulfport’s aging citizens, and serves as an advocate on the behalf of the aging in matters of local or regional resource distributions.
Physical Health and Wellness
Foundation Fitness Center, Blood Pressure Screening, Memory Screening, Stretch Exercise, Yoga, Line Dancing, Tai Chi, and Strength Training & Aerobics.
Support Groups
Caregivers, Diabetes, Hearing Loss, and Visually Impaired.
Educational Programs
Art Classes, Bridge Instruction, Computer Classes, seminars and presentations, and cooking classes.
Special Interest Groups
Investment Club, Knitting, Quilters Club, Coffee Club, Writers Club, Harmonica Club, and Line Dancing.
Social Activities
Chat Room, seasonal and celebratory luncheons, dinners, and parties, and day trips.
Games
BINGO, Dominoes, Mah-jongg, Cribbage, Bridge, Euchre, Canasta, Pinochle, and Wii Bowling.
Foreign Language
Italian, Spanish, and English Classes.
Reassurance Telephone Calls
Daily calls are made to participants to check on their well-being, for reassurance, and emergency assistance if needed. Call 727-893-2237.
