Gulfport Connects: Bringing the Community Together in Service and Support
The City of Gulfport is proud to introduce Gulfport Connects, a new online volunteer platform that strengthens the connection between residents, local organizations, and City departments.
The idea for Gulfport Connects was born from a vision by Mayor Love and a group of dedicated volunteers following two major hurricanes last year. The goal: to create a simple, reliable way for organizations to connect directly with citizen needs during times of crisis, and to continue using that same system during “blue sky days” to support everyday volunteer efforts across Gulfport.
Through Gulfport Connects, non-profit organizations, community groups, and City departments can post volunteer opportunities, manage projects, and track service hours; an invaluable feature for coordination and grant reporting.
Meanwhile, residents and volunteers can explore opportunities that fit their interests, sign up instantly, and log their hours of service, building a personal record of community involvement. Whether it’s helping after a storm, supporting a local cleanup, or volunteering at a community event, Gulfport Connects makes it easy to participate.
Residents and organizations can visit Galaxy Digital to register, post opportunities, or browse volunteer listings today.
Community Groups wishing to use the application for their individualized needs are encouraged to email dmather@mygulfport.us with the name and email of the organizations principal administrator and your organization will be added to the portal.
This platform turns the lessons learned from crisis into lasting community strength. It’s about staying connected, helping each other when times are tough, and continuing that same spirit every day.
