Whether you served in the military or serve on the volleyball court, join in the City of Gulfport and VETsports Heroes Weekend on Saturday & Sunday, November 10 – 11. This is a great way for the community to participate in Veteran’s Day while giving back to local Veterans. You can get involved by either entering in the parade or entering your team in the VETSports volleyball tournament. You can find registration links for both events below.


During Heroes Weekend the City of Gulfport will host the Veterans Day Parade on Veteran’s Day, Sunday, November 11th at 11 a.m. All are welcome to join the Parade on Beach Boulevard.

Get your family, organization, or business in on the fun! If you are interested in participating, please stop by City Hall at 2401 53rd St. S. to pick up an application or download and print a copy  by clicking the button below.

The Deadline to enter the parade is Monday, November 5th

Note: Please note for your safety and for the safety of others, throwing of candy, toys or other objects is strictly prohibited during the parade due to the potential for serious injury. Participants on foot may distribute candy or other items by handing them to spectators. Consumption of Alcohol is prohibited at the staging area.



Saturday Men’s/Women’s 2’s – player sign up’s through Tampa Bay Beach Bums/VolleyAmerica

Sunday – Co-ed 4’s – player sign up’s through VETSports at Eventbrite

Volleyball will kick off Saturday at 8 a.m. and on Sunday, following the Veteran’s Parade, opening ceremonies will commence for the 7th Annual VETSports Beach Volleyball Gulfport Open at 12 Noon. Smokin’ J’s BBQ, drinks and items for purchase will be available courtside. Proceeds raised benefit VETSports Inc., a 501 (c) 3, tax-exempt.




VetSports is a nationwide non-profit helping veterans achieve better physical, mental and emotional health through sports, physical activity and community involvement.

VETSports Tampa Bay & Gulfport Police recently visited Stetson College of Law to check out the Veterans Law Institute and talk a little Beach Volleyball. Big Thanks to Dean Christopher M. Pietruszkiewicz, Matthew A. Ceriale  and all the law students who will be joining us for this years’ Gulfport Heroes Weekend.
