P/T MARINA ASSISTANT – Responsible for maintenance and clerical work of the Municipal Marina. Ability to maintain maintenance work orders and clerical records. Ability to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely. Knowledge use of power tools, hand tools and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of boating, weather and familiarity with local waterways. Receives checks, stores and sells a variety of merchandise. Assists in maintaining inventory, Operates cash register. Must be able to handle sales through the use of credit cards. The ability to climb on and off vessels, lift 50lbs and walk an average of five (5) miles per day. Able to work in hot weather conditions. Able to work weekends and all holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours which are often dictated by weather. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable diploma. Possession of valid driver license. Entry $ 12.702 per hour. Open until filled. FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC – City of Gulfport. Must be Florida State certified Firefighter/Paramedic. Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR, PHTLS, ACLS cards and Florida Driver’s License. CPAT or P.A.T certification required. Pinellas County certified paramedic and EVOC training preferred. Background investigation will be conducted including polygraph, psychological & physical examinations w/drug screening. Pay Range $49,348.470 – $79,188.928 annually. F/T SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – Responsible for general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation, reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of balances, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Assists in development and implementation of related procedures and internal accounting controls, provides advice and assistance to other departments on the origin, nature or proper handling of accounting transactions; prepares financial or informational spreadsheets for management’s review and internal/external review. Research, review, and resolve unusual variances with minimal supervisor. Identify and tag capital asset purchased and enter information into the fixed asset program. Group/track associated projects and reconcile fixed asset database to general ledger. Facilitate the disposal of capital assets and/or inventory items through sale, transfer, or destruction in compliance with policies and procedures. Facilitate the finance department oversight responsibility regarding inventory transactions to identify errors and suggest process improvements to ensure accurate inventory value is maintained and accurately reported. Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger. Collect, coordinate and maintain vendor application and database files. Prepare request for payments or purchase orders in compliance with the Purchasing Manual. Perform purchasing functions for all City office supplies and allocates monthly office supply and copy machine charges to each department. Work may involve analyzing financial statements and records, coordinating budget preparation and administration, reviewing administrative and accounting procedures, preparing comprehensive reports on special studies, and assisting in the design and implementation of new financial accounting systems. Knowledge of office procedures, practices and equipment. Knowledge of bookkeeping and governmental accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer skills required. Ability to prepare financial reports and statements in accordance with predetermined requirements. Graduation form an accredited four-year college of university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Four (4) years of experience in accounting and fiscal operations. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel Skills. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida’s Driver’s License. P/T TROLLEY OPERATOR – Operates the Special Events Trolley. Operates hydraulic wheelchair lift as needed while assisting elderly and disabled passengers on and off vehicle. Responsible for keeping vehicle clean (interior and exterior). Performs daily safety inspections of vehicle. Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with city and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinance and rules. Knowledge of the trolley route and geography of the City. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Ability to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Experience with the elderly or handicapped is preferred. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), State of Florida Driver’s License with a passenger endorsement, which is appropriate for the passenger capacity and gross weight of the vehicle being operated by that driver. Continuous possession of a valid driver’s license for the past seven (7) years. Drivers must pass all applicable medical exams. Entry $13.337/hour. Open until filled. P/T GEMS DRIVER – Operates a 10-12 passenger mini-bus, sedan style automobile, and/or van. Operates hydraulic wheelchair lift as needed while assisting elderly and disabled passengers on and off vehicle. Lifts and carries groceries and personal belongings for clients. Responsible for keeping vehicle clean (interior and exterior). Performs daily safety inspections of vehicle. Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with city and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinance and rules. Knowledge of the geography of the City and surrounding communities. Takes reservations/cancellations, registers new participants and collects fees. Operates two-way radio for contacting and dispatching mini-bus drivers. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Ability to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Experience with the elderly or handicapped is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. RECREATION LEADER – City of Gulfport. Immediate part-time position available for the School Year Child Care Program. Experience in education, physical education or child care preferred. Knowledge of licensing requirements, recreational activities including games, arts & crafts and sports. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalency and ability to meet the personnel standards required by the Pinellas County License Board and the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas, Inc.
