P/T SENIOR CENTER ASSISTANT– Provides support work for various Senior Center events, including opening and closing facility for evening and weekend activities, greeting and providing customer service for patrons, setting up tables and chairs, collecting fees, custodial care, and other tasks as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Center Supervisor. Requires the ability to resolve problems and use sound judgment on a regular basis. Must be self-motivated and able to work well without immediate supervision. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform required manual labor for extended periods of time. Knowledge of cleaning practices and willingness to perform light custodial work. P/T GEMS COORDINATOR– Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the provisions of quality care and transportation of the elderly population. Assists Senior Services Supervisor with the recruitment, hiring, training, and annual evaluations of GEMS staff. Supervises the day-to-day work of GEMS drivers: vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections, vehicle cleanliness, reporting of repair needs, etc. Assists GEMS dispatcher in taking reservations, scheduling vehicles, logistics, and other administrative duties as needed. Inspects vehicles, policies, and laws frequently to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Educates staff regarding such as it relates to transportation. Knowledge of general vehicle care and routine maintenance. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules. Knowledge of the geography of the City and surrounding communities. Knowledge of hazards involved in the work and safety precautions to be taken. Knowledge of data processing, office practices, procedures, equipment, and computer software. Ability to safely operate a 10-12 person passenger mini-bus with hydraulic equipment. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Requires minimum of three (3) years supervisory/management/leadership experience. Requires two (2) years of public transportation experience. Ability to list and carry up to forty (40) pounds. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $12.667 per hour. Open until filled. RECREATION LEADER – City of Gulfport. Immediate part-time position available for the School Year Child Care Program. Experience in education, physical education or child care preferred. Knowledge of licensing requirements, recreational activities including games, arts & crafts and sports. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalency and ability to meet the personnel standards required by the Pinellas County License Board and the Early Learning Coalition of Pinellas, Inc. Entry $11.490/hr. Background checks, fingerprints, drug screening and physical will be conducted. Position open until filled. P/T MARINA ASSISTANT– Responsible for maintenance and clerical work of the Municipal Marina. Ability to maintain maintenance work orders and clerical records. Ability to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely. Knowledge use of power tools, hand tools and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of boating, weather and familiarity with local waterways. Receives checks, stores and sells a variety of merchandise. Assists in maintaining inventory, Operates cash register. Must be able to handle sales through the use of credit cards. The ability to climb on and off vessels, lift 50lbs and walk an average of five (5) miles per day. Able to work in hot weather conditions. Able to work weekends and all holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours which are often dictated by weather. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable diploma. Possession of valid driver license. Entry $ 11.490 per hour. Open until filled.
