F/T EQUIPMENT OPERATOR (SANITATION) – Performs heavy manual labor in the collection and disposal of all types of waste and refuse materials for the Sanitation division of the Public Works Department. Drives the sanitation truck and is responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the equipment while using caution in order to avoid accidents and injuries. Collects waste and refuse, empties contents of the refuse cans into sanitation truck. Rakes and loads grass and brush collections. Cleans refuse and trash from trucks and equipment. Performs general housekeeping for all sanitation areas and equipment. Reports violations of refuse ordinances to the Sanitation Crew Leader. Ability to understand, communicate, and follow instructions. Ability to operate sanitation trucks and packer equipment. Must be able to lift more than 50 pounds. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Three (3) years’ experience in the operation of solid waste vehicles and equipment. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Must possess a valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License, with air brake endorsement. F/T MAINTENANCE WORKER II (Sanitation) – Semi-skilled work in collection of solid waste and refuse. Performs solid waste collection and disposal activities. Empties the contents of refuse containers into the sanitation collection vehicle; separate all recycled products; loads tired brush bundles. Assures yards are clear of rubbish and debris from containers. Operates vehicle hydraulic packer controls. Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of sanitation equipment. Performs laboring tasks on patch or shoulder crews. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma is preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in semi-skilled maintenance work, grounds keeping, construction and repair. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $13.596 per hour. Open until filled. P/T PUMPOUT OPERATOR – Operates, maintains and assists marina patrons utilizing pumpout equipment, including operating and maintaining the municipal marina pumpout vessel. Observes and reports to the Marina Director problem areas, such as waterway obstruction, unauthorized vessels, and equipment problems. Conducts routine dye testing inspections on visiting vessels. Assists in enforcing rules and regulations. Maintains required records for use of sewage pumpout equipment. Ensures proper care and safety to boating customers and their property. Monitors VHF marine radio to remain in constant contact with boaters and ship store. Must be able to work weekends and holidays. Knowledge of marina dockage and anchorage facilities, boat ramps, and water depths. Knowledge of boating and familiarity with local waterfront is preferred. Must be able to list 25 pounds. Must possess a Boating Safety Certificate from the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, United States Power Squadrons, FWC Boating Certificate or must obtain certificate within three (3) months from the date of hire. F/T SENIOR ACCOUNTANT – Responsible for general ledger accounting, including journal entry preparation, reconciliation and analysis of various balance sheet and income statement accounts to ensure compliance, integrity of balances, accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting. Assists in development and implementation of related procedures and internal accounting controls, provides advice and assistance to other departments on the origin, nature or proper handling of accounting transactions; prepares financial or informational spreadsheets for management’s review and internal/external review. Research, review, and resolve unusual variances with minimal supervisor. Identify and tag capital asset purchased and enter information into the fixed asset program. Group/track associated projects and reconcile fixed asset database to general ledger. Facilitate the disposal of capital assets and/or inventory items through sale, transfer, or destruction in compliance with policies and procedures. Facilitate the finance department oversight responsibility regarding inventory transactions to identify errors and suggest process improvements to ensure accurate inventory value is maintained and accurately reported. Reconcile inventory accounts to the general ledger. Collect, coordinate and maintain vendor application and database files. Prepare request for payments or purchase orders in compliance with the Purchasing Manual. Perform purchasing functions for all City office supplies and allocates monthly office supply and copy machine charges to each department. Work may involve analyzing financial statements and records, coordinating budget preparation and administration, reviewing administrative and accounting procedures, preparing comprehensive reports on special studies, and assisting in the design and implementation of new financial accounting systems. Knowledge of office procedures, practices and equipment. Knowledge of bookkeeping and governmental accounting principles and procedures. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and other computer skills required. Ability to prepare financial reports and statements in accordance with predetermined requirements. Graduation form an accredited four-year college of university with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Four (4) years of experience in accounting and fiscal operations. Must possess advanced Microsoft Excel Skills. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida’s Driver’s License. P/T EVENT STAFF – Support work for various Casino, Theater, and City-wide Special Event activities, including opening facilities for evening and weekend activities, greeting and providing customer service for patrons, setting up tables and chairs, collecting fees, custodial care, and other tasks as assigned. Strong customer service skills required and prior experience in cashiering, event set-ups, technical sound/lighting, and bartending preferred. Must be available to work flexible hours (weekends, weekdays, & holidays). Requires frequent lifting of 25-30lbs and occasional lifting of 35-40lbs. Florida Driver’s License is required. $12.948/HR. P/T MARINA ASSISTANT – Responsible for maintenance and clerical work of the Municipal Marina. Ability to maintain maintenance work orders and clerical records. Ability to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely. Knowledge use of power tools, hand tools and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of boating, weather and familiarity with local waterways. Receives checks, stores and sells a variety of merchandise. Assists in maintaining inventory, Operates cash register. Must be able to handle sales through the use of credit cards. The ability to climb on and off vessels, lift 50lbs and walk an average of five (5) miles per day. Able to work in hot weather conditions. Able to work weekends and all holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours which are often dictated by weather. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable diploma. Possession of valid driver license. Entry $12.332 per hour. Open until filled. F/T HORTICULTURALIST – Performs skilled and semi-skilled work related to horticulture functions in the City’s Parks and Facilities Department. Manages the application of chemicals and fertilizers. Designs and plans annual, perennial, and other displays’ evaluates and recommends improvements. Performs cosmetic pruning of trees using proper International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) pruning standards. Knowledge of practices and principles of horticulture and arboriculture. Ability to identify a wide variety of landscape plants by botanical and common name. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other city departments, supervisors, other public agencies, and vendors. Knowledge of the use and capabilities of various maintenance equipment, materials, chemicals, and fertilizers. Knowledge of irrigation system installations and minor repairs. Ability to lift up to 50lbs. Graduation from high school or GED, supplemented by vocational course work in horticulture or arboriculture; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Hold a Limited Certification for Lawn and Ornamental (Chapter 482) for government employees or the ability to obtain with eighteen months of hire. Florida Driver’s License is required. $16.733/HR.
