F/T LEAD MECHANIC – Under general supervision, performs highly skilled, specialized, journey level, mechanical repair of the City’s automotive vehicles, light and heavy duty trucks and equipment. Diagnose causes of equipment failure and malfunction. Request appropriate parts needed from the designated fleet support staff. Exercises judgment in estimating the nature and extent of repairs required. Inspects, repairs, overhauls and assembles automotive electrical equipment. Repairs and adjusts steering, suspension and brake systems. Assists with the requisition of parts and associated paperwork; coordinates outside repairs as requested by supervisor. Maintains cleanliness and inventory of parts room and fuel inventories. Knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on vehicles from automotive to heavy equipment. Knowledge of the methods, materials and tools of the fleet mechanic trade. Skill in diagnosing causes of mechanic failure in automotive equipment, including gasoline and diesel engines, hydraulic systems and fire equipment. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and vocational training in automotive equipment repair. Five (5) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel powered automotive equipment. ASE certification in all areas of automotive and heavy trucks is preferred. Class B with air brake. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC – City of Gulfport. Must be Florida State certified Firefighter/Paramedic. Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR, PHTLS, ACLS cards and Florida Driver’s License. CPAT or P.A.T certification required. Pinellas County certified paramedic and EVOC training preferred. Background investigation will be conducted including polygraph, psychological & physical examinations w/drug screening. Pay Range $50,830.154-$81,567.475 annually. Additional benefits include paid holidays, paid vacation time, certificate pay, and pension. Open until position is filled. P/T SENIOR CENTER ASSISTANT – Provides support work for various Senior Center events, including opening and closing facility for evening and weekend activities, greeting and providing customer service for patrons, setting up tables and chairs, collecting fees, custodial care, and other tasks as assigned. Work is performed under the supervision of the Senior Center Supervisor. Requires the ability to resolve problems and use sound judgment on a regular basis. Must be self-motivated and able to work well without immediate supervision. Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays. Sufficient physical strength and agility to perform required manual labor for extended periods of time. Knowledge of cleaning practices and willingness to perform light custodial work.  Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. F/T TEAM LEADResponsible for generating all utility and marina customer billing, preparing work orders, making changes to the customer databases and accepting utility, marina and all cash receipt payments into the system. The Team Lead acts as a liaison between the administrative services technicians, and the accounting manager in the areas of process improvements, escalated customer concerns and troubleshooting software. Receives service fees from the public and prepares customer receipts. Balances cash on hand against receipts. Submits forms regarding fees collected for private utilities. Checks and verifies data and corrects inaccuracies. Receives and processes requests from the public for the initiation and discontinuance of City utility services. Resolves customer issues and complaints and meets with customers who have unresolved concerns. Schedules all aspects of utility billing. Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual utility billing and reports. Processes and reviews delinquent statements, service charges and terminations. Prepares delinquent notices and other follow up letters to customers. Ability to handle switchboard duties. Responsible to coordinate and report to the Accounting Manager regarding account billing/collection schedules and workloads of the Administrative Service Technicians as well as identify problems and recommend improvements to the accounting and billing system. Knowledge of the principles and practices of cashiering. Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and equipment. Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to receive cash and make change quickly and accurately. Ability to exercise good judgement while making decisions in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures. Ability to operate a computer terminal. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Knowledge of computer utilization in utility billing operations. Knowledge of standard software applications including Word and Excel. Ability to communicate well with customers, on the phone, by letter and in person. Ability to deal with people effectively and diplomatically. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Four (4) years’ experience in customer service work including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead worker capacity. Prior experience in a utility operation in municipal environment is desirable. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. Salary range is $20.267-$30.401 per hour. Open until filled. P/T EVENT STAFFSupport work for various Casino, Theater, and City-wide Special Event activities, including opening facilities for evening and weekend activities, greeting and providing customer service for patrons, setting up tables and chairs, collecting fees, custodial care, and other tasks as assigned. Strong customer service skills required and prior experience in cashiering, event set-ups, technical sound/lighting, and bartending preferred. Must be available to work flexible hours (weekends, weekdays, & holidays). Requires frequent lifting of 25-30lbs and occasional lifting of 35-40lbs. Florida Driver’s License is required. $14.404/HR. A pre-employment drug screen, criminal history background investigation, physical, and driver’s license verification may be conducted. E.O.E.

F/T UTILITY SERVICE WORKER IISemi-skilled and skilled work in the maintenance of City streets, utilities, and stormwater facilities. Installs and maintain new water lines, fire hydrants, and water meters. Install, test and service back-flow prevention devices. Replaces meter boxes and covers. Reads water meters and complete assigned work orders. Repair or replace sewer mains and service laterals. Performs leak detection on city water mains. Locate and exercise water valves citywide. Inspects, maintains, and repair sewage life station equipment and machinery to ensure that all is operating properly. Performs maintenance and repair on pumps, shafts and other equipment in lift stations. Cleans and lubricates pumps and other machinery. Use and operates tools and equipment related to construction, maintenance and repair. Ability to be available for emergency calls and weekend assignments. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and vocational training. Three (3) years’ experience in the maintenance and repair of water and sewer lines, pumps, shafts, bearing and other utility equipment. Must be able to lift more than 60 pounds. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $16.674 per hour. Open until filled. P/T TROLLEY OPERATOROperates the Special Events Trolley. Operates hydraulic wheelchair lift as needed while assisting elderly and disabled passengers on and off vehicle. Responsible for keeping vehicle clean (interior and exterior). Performs daily safety inspections of vehicle. Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with city and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinance and rules. Knowledge of the trolley route and geography of the City. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Ability to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Experience with the elderly or handicapped is preferred. Possession of a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), State of Florida Driver’s License with a passenger endorsement, which is appropriate for the passenger capacity and gross weight of the vehicle being operated by that driver. Continuous possession of a valid driver’s license for the past seven (7) years. Drivers must pass all applicable medical exams. Entry $14.404/hour. Open until filled.
