P/T GEMS COORDINATOR – Responsible for coordinating and facilitating the provisions of quality care and transportation of the elderly population. Assists Senior Services Supervisor with the recruitment, hiring, training, and annual evaluations of GEMS staff. Supervises the day-to-day work of GEMS drivers: vehicle pre- and post-trip inspections, vehicle cleanliness, reporting of repair needs, etc. Assists GEMS dispatcher in taking reservations, scheduling vehicles, logistics, and other administrative duties as needed. Inspects vehicles, policies, and laws frequently to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Educates staff regarding such as it relates to transportation. Knowledge of general vehicle care and routine maintenance. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinances and rules. Knowledge of the geography of the City and surrounding communities. Knowledge of hazards involved in the work and safety precautions to be taken. Knowledge of data processing, office practices, procedures, equipment, and computer software. Ability to safely operate a 10-12 person passenger mini-bus with hydraulic equipment. Ability to work flexible hours and weekends, as needed. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Requires minimum of three (3) years supervisory/management/leadership experience. Requires two (2) years of public transportation experience. Ability to list and carry up to forty (40) pounds. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $13.596 per hour. Open until filled. F/T FLEET MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT – Semi-skilled work in servicing automotive equipment, routine clerical and support working the Public Services Garage. Obtains prices for vehicle parts and for work done by vendors; prepares necessary Purchase Requisitions, and/or Request for Payment based on vendor invoices against running balances on blanket purchase orders to order parts as directed. Monitors fuel inventory daily by observing meters and measuring depth in tanks. Prepares work orders as directed by supervisor, extending labor and material cost on completed work orders. Maintain parts room and fuel inventories. Organize material and labor data as input to monthly departmental reports; prepares time keeping records; maintains files, reports and other documents including fleet maintenance records on a PC computer system. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Experience in servicing automotive equipment. Experience in responsible clerical work. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida CDL class “B” driver’s license with air brake endorsement within 6 months of hiring. Entry $15.739 per hour. Open until filled. P/T MARINA ASSISTANT – Responsible for maintenance and clerical work of the Municipal Marina. Ability to maintain maintenance work orders and clerical records. Ability to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely. Knowledge use of power tools, hand tools and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of boating, weather and familiarity with local waterways. Receives checks, stores and sells a variety of merchandise. Assists in maintaining inventory, Operates cash register. Must be able to handle sales through the use of credit cards. The ability to climb on and off vessels, lift 50lbs and walk an average of five (5) miles per day. Able to work in hot weather conditions. Able to work weekends and all holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours which are often dictated by weather. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable diploma. Possession of valid driver license. Entry $ 12.332 per hour. Open until filled. F/T PLANNER – Professional and technical work involving current and long range planning, economic development, community redevelopment, grant writing and related grant project administration, recycling, utility and transportation matters, affordable housing assistance, census review, mapping, geographic information systems and floodplain management. Assists in the review and amendment of existing codes and regulations including the City Code of Ordinances, Zoning Code and the Comprehensive Plan. Drafts plans, creates maps, and updates official maps such as future land use plan, zoning and waterfront plan. Utilizes the City’s Geographical Information System to produce data, statistics and mapping. Assists in the preparation of the graphic or written data and/or projects for review before City Council, public interest groups and various boards and committees. Knowledge and principles and practices of public planning and community development. Ability to conduct studies, including research methodology and statistical techniques, and to analyze and formulate recommendations based upon the studies. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing, to City officials, public interest groups, general public and other governmental agencies. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a four year degree in planning, public administration, or other related degree and two (2) years of professional experience working for a government agency with related tasks; or, graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master’s degree in planning, public administration, or other related degree and approximately one (1) year of professional experience working for a government agency with related work tasks. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $46,063.577. Open until filled. P/T RECREATION LEADER – City of Gulfport. Immediate part-time evening and weekend position available for the Teen Night Program. Education/experience preferred in education, physical education or related field. Knowledge of recreational activities including games, arts & crafts and sports. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma and minimum of 18 years of age. Entry $12.332/hr. Level II background check, drug screening and physical will be conducted. Position opens until filled. FIREFIGHTER/PARAMEDIC – City of Gulfport. Must be Florida State certified Firefighter/Paramedic. Must have current Healthcare Provider CPR, PHTLS, ACLS cards and Florida Driver’s License. CPAT or P.A.T certification required. Pinellas County certified paramedic and EVOC training preferred. Background investigation will be conducted including polygraph, psychological & physical examinations w/drug screening. Pay Range $49,348.470 – $79,188.928 annually.
