F/T ACCOUNTING SUPERVISOR– Responsible supervisory work to oversee the operation of utility billing and customer service function within the Administrative Service Department. This position performs complex accounting and finance related analyses and provides advice on accounting matters based on a thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, procedures and practices. Work is performed under the supervision of the Accounting Manager. Proven customer service experience with the ability to resolve problems and use sound judgment on a regular basis. Graduation from accredited college with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance Management or Public Administration is preferred. Four (4) years of experience in governmental or non-profit accounting with two (2) years of supervisory experience. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $47,923.868. Open until filled. P/T SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD– Safety work in the regulation of vehicular and pedestrian traffic in conjunction with the movement of children to and from school. Work is limited to those hours during which school is opening and closing and during lunch hour. Places school sentinel signs in the roadway at designated places near crossing points and removes them when no longer required. Assists children in crossing designated streets. Reports all traffic hazards to the police. Reports flagrant traffic violators and suspicious person loitering in the school area. Contacts school officials concerning children who do not cooperate in the accomplishing safety objectives. Performs related work as assigned. Ability to work regardless of weather conditions. Ability to accept, obey and carry out orders and special instructions. Ability to understand laws, ordinances and regulations pertaining to traffic. Ability to deal courteously and firmly with the public. Possession of a valid Florida’s Driver’s License. F/T MAINTENANCE WORKER II (Sanitation)– Semi-skilled work in the maintenance of City streets, utilities, facilities, grounds and/or collection of solid waste and refuse. Performs solid waste collection and disposal activities. Empties the contents of refuse containers into the sanitation collection vehicle; separate all recycled products; loads tired brush bundles. Assures yards are clear of rubbish and debris from containers. Operates vehicle hydraulic packer controls. Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of sanitation equipment. Performs laboring tasks on patch or shoulder crews. Patches holes in streets or alleys with asphalt, rock or shell. Installs, replaces and repairs road signs and barricades. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma is preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in semi-skilled maintenance work, grounds keeping, construction and repair. Knowledge of licensing requirements, recreational activities including games, arts & crafts and sports. F/T ADMINISTRATIVE SERVICE TECHNICIAN- UTILITIES – Responsible for generating all utility customer billing, preparing work orders, making changes to the customer database and accepting utility, marina and all cash receipt payments into the system. Knowledge of the principles and practices of cashiering. Knowledge of modern office procedures, methods and equipment. Ability to accurately perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to receive cash and make changes quickly and accurately. Ability to exercise good judgement while making decisions in accordance with policies, regulations and procedures. Ability to operate a computer terminal. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City employees and the general public. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Graduation from accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Four (4) years’ experience in customer service work including two (2) years in a supervisory or lead worker capacity. Prior experience in a utility operation in a municipal environment is desirable. P/T LIBRARY ASSISTANT II– Specialized technical and clerical support and public contact work, using personal computers and an online cataloging and circulation system. Work requires independent judgment and action within well-established policies and procedures. Work with patrons and maintain a high level of customer service even in difficult situations. Work with computerized circulation software and other library databases and websites. Checks out books and other material, processes new library cards, and maintains records of fines and fees. Maintains orderly flow of returned materials, shelves books, replaces materials and empties the book drop. Assists in the search and recovery of library materials. Performs related work as required. Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public. Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changes in the library environment. Ability to learn and apply complex automated procedures. Knowledge of the services and operations of Libraries. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. Requires walking, standing, sitting, pushing, pulling, crawling, bending, stooping and reaching. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma, supplemented by computer keyboarding courses, training or experience. Two (2) years of specific experience with library automation systems. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications. GEMS DRIVER – Operates a 10-12 passenger mini-bus, sedan style automobile, and/or van. Operates hydraulic wheelchair lift as needed while assisting elderly and disabled passengers on and off vehicle. Lifts and carries groceries and personal belongings for clients. Responsible for keeping vehicle clean (interior and exterior). Performs daily safety inspections of vehicle. Ability to make routine decisions in accordance with city and departmental policies, procedures and regulations. Knowledge of traffic laws, ordinance and rules. Knowledge of the geography of the City and surrounding communities. Takes reservations/cancellations, registers new participants and collects fees. Operates two-way radio for contacting and dispatching mini-bus drivers. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. Ability to lift and carry up to twenty (20) pounds. Experience with the elderly or handicapped is preferred. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. P/T EVENT STAFF – Support work for various Casino, Theater, and City-wide Special Event activities, including opening facilities for evening and weekend activities, greeting and providing customer service for patrons, setting up tables and chairs, collecting fees, custodial care, and other tasks as assigned. Strong customer service skills required and prior experience in cashiering, event set-ups, technical sound/lighting, and bartending preferred. Must be available to work flexible hours (weekends, weekdays, & holidays). Requires frequent lifting of 25-30lbs and occasional lifting of 35-40lbs. Florida Driver’s License is required. $11.656/HR.
