RECREATION LEADER– City of Gulfport. Immediate part-time position available for the Tot Time & VPK Program. Experience in child care with knowledge of licensing requirements and VPK. Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalency, Part 1 30-hour Introductory Child Care Training, Part 2 10-hour Preschool Appropriate Practices and Early Literacy. F/T MAINTENANCE WORKER II (Sanitation) – Semi-skilled work in collection of solid waste and refuse. Performs solid waste collection and disposal activities. Empties the contents of refuse containers into the sanitation collection vehicle; separate all recycled products; loads tired brush bundles. Assures yards are clear of rubbish and debris from containers. Operates vehicle hydraulic packer controls. Assists in the maintenance and cleaning of sanitation equipment. Performs laboring tasks on patch or shoulder crews. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma is preferred. Two (2) years’ experience in semi-skilled maintenance work, grounds keeping, construction and repair. A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum, qualifications. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. Entry $12.667 per hour. Open until filled. F/T MAINTENANCE WORKER II (Stormwater) – Semi-skilled work in the maintenance and repair of the City’s stormwater system. Inspects, constructs and repairs City’s detention and retention ponds for treatment of storwater system; flushes and cleans stormwater system; installs, repairs and replaces culverts, curbs, drains, headwalls, catch basins, aprons, and interacts with contractors working on similar or joint projects. Knowledge of tools, equipment and materials used in maintenance work. Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions of the work. Ability to perform routine tasks associated with the trade. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to understand and follow instructions. Ability to perform heavy manual labor tasks for extended periods of time in unfavorable weather conditions. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma. The equivalent of three (3) years stormwater facilities construction maintenance, and operation and maintenance of excavation and construction equipment experience is desirable. P/T MARINA ASSISTANT– Responsible for maintenance and clerical work of the Municipal Marina. Ability to maintain maintenance work orders and clerical records. Ability to perform maintenance duties accurately and safely. Knowledge use of power tools, hand tools and measuring devices. Knowledge of basic electrical and plumbing. Knowledge of boating, weather and familiarity with local waterways. Receives checks, stores and sells a variety of merchandise. Assists in maintaining inventory, Operates cash register. Must be able to handle sales through the use of credit cards. The ability to climb on and off vessels, lift 50lbs and walk an average of five (5) miles per day. Able to work in hot weather conditions. Able to work weekends and all holidays. Must be able to work flexible hours which are often dictated by weather. Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable diploma. Possession of valid driver license. Entry $ 11.490 per hour. Open until filled.
