
Celebrate America’s 247th Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023
Parade Registration is Now Closed!
Wake up early and bring the kids to the Gulfport Marina’s Fishing Derby at the Michael J. Yakes Recreation Complex’s (5730 Shore Blvd. S.) from 8:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. Registration is on the seawall and is always free. Registration starts at 7:30 A.M. Please bring your own fishing pole as the Marina’s staff will provide bait and prizes.
The Free Family Sand Sculpture Contest sponsored by the Gulfport Recreation Division will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. on Gulfport’s very own Municipal Beach. The theme is “Patriotic”, so bring your own tools and supplies, registration begins at 9:30 A.M. Winners will be announced at 12:15 p.m.
Welcome local businesses, organizations, family and friends in the City of Gulfport Independence Day Parade at 6 P.M. Bring your red, white and blue and have some fun celebrating the 4th of July! The best viewing location is directly in front of the Casino at 6 P.M.
A welcome by the Gulfport Mayor and City Councilmembers on the northwest Casino steps immediately following the parade.
Live music from the New Horizons Band of Gulfport as they perform patriotic music on the Casino Deck area at 7 P.M.
At 9 P.M., a phenomenal fireworks display will launch from the Williams Pier. The best viewing location is Gulfport Beach.
Streets Temporarily Closed for 4th of July Special Event
Beach Boulevard South of 28th Avenue to Shore Boulevard South to 56th Street South will be temporarily closed for the City’s 4th of July Community Parade from 5:30PM until 7:00PM. Beach Boulevard South of 31st Avenue to Shore Boulevard South will remain closed following the conclusion of the Community Parade.
Casino Dock Temporarily Closed for 4th of July Special Event
The Gulfport Casino floating dock in Boca Ciega Bay will be temporarily closed on Tuesday, July 4th at 7 A.M. All boaters can dock at the Gulfport Marina on the day of the event for a fee. Any unauthorized boats parked at the Casino dock will be towed to a safe location. Limited dinghy access, per the Marina Director, is granted at the Coast Guard Auxiliary Building during the event times only. In addition, the Williams Pier (Corner of Shore Boulevard South and 54th Street South) will be closed at 8 A.M. Monday morning, July 3rd, in advance of the fireworks show. The Casino dock will reopen in conjunction with the Williams Pier opening.
The following locations are offsite parking locations where patrons are able to park free and without any time limits. Please follow all signage.
The Gulfport Special Events Trolley will be available at 4 p.m. until the start of the parade and then immediately following the parade until 10 P.M. for free transport.
