Any supervisor in the police department can take a complaint at any time. He or she may take steps to handle the problem immediately, or you may be referred to the affected employee’s supervisor. If the situation cannot be resolved at this level, you may be asked to document your complaint on a form designed for that purpose.
In such a case, the Chief of Police will assign a supervisor to investigate the complaint. Florida law prohibits any documents associated with an internal police investigation from being made public while the case is still open. View Command and Supervisory Staff
