The City of Gulfport is presently monitoring Hurricane Michael. Pinellas County Emergency Management in conjunction with the National Weather Service advises that on the storm’s present track, at this time, the City of Gulfport can anticipate scattered periodic rains similar to active afternoon thunderstorms. Exceptional high tides are possible to occur Tuesday evening through Thursday. Should rains occur during periods of high tide, low level street flooding may occur in the areas prone to tidal street flooding.

The following City operations will be available to residents.

  • Sandbags will be available at the 49th Street Neighborhood Center, 1617 49th Street South from 1PM– 7PM today (Tuesday, October 9, 2018). There is 10-bag limit and proof of residency may be required.

The City of Gulfport will continue to provide information as necessary, as the storm's track progresses. Please continue to monitor local weather reports and the City's information resources.

Pinellas County Emergency Management in conjunction with the National Weather Service advises that on the storm’s present track, at this time, the City of Gulfport can anticipate scattered periodic rains similar to active afternoon thunderstorms. Exceptional high tides are possible to occur Tuesday evening through Thursday. Should rains occur during periods of high tide, low level street flooding may occur in the areas prone to tidal street flooding.

The City of Gulfport will provide additional information and evaluate further actions as the storm’s track becomes more definitive. Continue to monitor local weather reports and City information resources.

10/09/2018 at 8PM - The City of Gulfport distributed 220 sandbags to area residents today at the 49th Street Neighborhood Center. The Sandbag station will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, October 10, at 9am.
