Recruiting and background are also completed by this section.
If you have a tip or information which you feel may be relevant to a specific crime or criminal activity, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-TIPS. You can leave anonymous tips, and you may be eligible for a reward.

Special Operations Section
The Special Operations Section of the Gulfport Police Department supports specialized law enforcement activities that extend beyond routine patrol operations. The section focuses on community safety initiatives, special events, and other assignments requiring specialized training, equipment, or coordination.
The section also includes the Department’s School Resource Officers (SROs), who work within local schools to promote a safe learning environment, build positive relationships with students and staff, and provide law enforcement and safety-related support to the school community.
Special Operations personnel work closely with other Police Department units, City departments, schools, community partners, and neighboring law enforcement agencies to address public safety needs and provide additional resources for specialized assignments and planned events.
